The short version

This policy explains how Prino handles consumer health data, as required by Washington's My Health My Data Act and similar laws in Nevada, Connecticut and other states. It adds to our Privacy Policy, which applies in full.

  • We never ask for health information. If you choose to share it, it is treated like the rest of your content.
  • Saved content is end-to-end encrypted. We cannot read it.
  • It is sent to an AI model only to answer you, under zero data retention commitments, and never used to train AI.
  • We never sell health data and never use it for advertising.

1. What counts as consumer health data

Consumer health data is personal information that identifies, or could reasonably be linked to, your past, present or future physical or mental health. Examples include symptoms, conditions, test results, medications, treatments, reproductive or sexual health, and information about seeking care.

2. What we collect and why

Prino does not ask for, infer or seek out health information. We collect consumer health data only when you choose to include it in your content, for example by asking about a lab result, attaching a doctor's letter, or talking through something on your mind. This may include:

  • health information you type or say in your messages;
  • health information in files you attach or add to a project;
  • answers Prino writes about your health questions; and
  • memories Prino saves from those conversations when Memory is on.

We use it only to provide the Service you asked for: to answer your questions, to keep your conversations, files and memories so you can return to them, and to sync them to your other devices if you have an account. We do not use it to build profiles, to infer anything else about you, for advertising or to train AI.

3. Where it comes from

Directly from you, and from content Prino writes in response to your requests. If you connect a service such as Google, Microsoft or Notion and ask Prino to read something that contains health information, it also comes from that service at your request.

4. How it is protected

When your content is saved, it is end-to-end encrypted in your browser with keys only you can unlock. We store only the encrypted copy and cannot read it. While a message is being answered, it is readable for a moment on our servers and at the AI provider, as described in Section 3 of the Privacy Policy.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell consumer health data, and we do not share it for any purpose other than providing the Service you asked for. To answer you, we send it to these categories of service providers, which may use it only on our instructions:

  • AI model providers, which process your message to write the answer under zero data retention commitments;
  • speech-to-text providers, if you use voice input;
  • hosting, networking and database providers, which carry your messages in transit or store your content in encrypted form they cannot read.

We have no affiliates that receive consumer health data. We may disclose information when the law requires it, as described in the Privacy Policy. Because saved content is end-to-end encrypted, we cannot disclose it in readable form.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • confirm whether we collect, share or sell your consumer health data, and get a list of the third parties we have shared it with;
  • access your consumer health data;
  • delete your consumer health data; and
  • withdraw consent to its collection and sharing.

Your saved content is available to you in the app at any time. You can delete individual conversations, files and memories, or your entire account, in your settings. You can also make a request by emailing hello@prino.ai. We will respond within 45 days, which may be extended once by another 45 days where the law allows. We will not treat you differently for using your rights.

If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision or emailing hello@prino.ai with the subject line "Health data appeal". We will answer your appeal within 45 days. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Washington State Attorney General at atg.wa.gov or your own state attorney general.
