Acceptable Use Policy
What you may not do with Prino, and how we enforce the rules without reading your conversations.
Table of contents
The short version
Use Prino for what it is built for: thinking, writing, learning and getting things done. Do not use it to break the law, hurt people or abuse the Service. Because your conversations are end-to-end encrypted, we cannot read them, so this policy relies on your good faith, on reports from others and on signals we can see without reading your content.
This policy is part of the Terms of Service. Words defined there mean the same thing here.
1. Never allowed
You may not use Prino to create, request, store or share:
- Sexual content involving minors. Any content that sexualizes a person under 18, including fictional, drawn or AI-generated content. We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and to law enforcement when we become aware of it.
- Intimate images without consent. Sexual or intimate content depicting a real, identifiable person without their consent, including deepfakes.
- Violent extremism and terrorism. Content that promotes, plans, funds or recruits for violent extremism or terrorism.
- Weapons capable of mass harm. Help to develop, acquire or use biological, chemical, nuclear or radiological weapons, or explosives intended to hurt people.
- Threats and incitement. Credible threats of violence, or encouragement of violence against people or groups.
- Self-harm encouragement. Content that encourages or instructs someone to harm themselves. If you are struggling, please contact local emergency services or a crisis line. In the United States you can call or text 988.
- Human trafficking and exploitation. Content that helps recruit, transport or exploit people.
2. Not allowed
You may not use Prino to:
- Break the law or help others break it, including laws on privacy, consumer protection, discrimination, export controls and sanctions.
- Harass, bully, stalk or intimidate anyone, or collect information to track, monitor or expose someone without their consent, including doxxing.
- Defraud or deceive, including scams, phishing, fake reviews, forged documents, identity theft and impersonating a person or organization.
- Attack computer systems, including writing or spreading malware, finding or exploiting vulnerabilities without authorization, or planning denial-of-service attacks.
- Infringe rights, including copyright, trademark, privacy and publicity rights.
- Interfere with elections, including false information about how, when or where to vote, or content impersonating candidates or election officials.
- Make high-stakes decisions about other people without human review, such as decisions about credit, employment, housing, insurance, education, legal status or access to essential services.
- Provide regulated professional services that require a license, such as medical, legal or financial advice to others, without the required qualifications and human review.
- Spread harmful health misinformation that could lead to serious harm.
3. Generated images and video
When you create images or video with Prino:
- do not depict a real person in a way that is sexual, degrading, deceptive or likely to harm them, and do not create a real person's likeness without their consent where it could mislead others;
- do not present AI-generated media as real to deceive people, especially about news, public figures or elections; and
- do not remove or alter markings that identify media as AI-generated; and
- follow any labeling rules that apply where you share the media.
4. Protecting the Service
You may not:
- get around usage limits, safeguards or security measures, including by creating multiple accounts or Guests to avoid limits;
- try to make the AI produce content this policy forbids by tricking or manipulating it;
- access the Service with bots, scrapers or other automated means we have not allowed, or resell, rent or share access to the Service;
- reverse engineer, decompile or copy the Service, except where the law allows despite this limit;
- use outputs to develop AI models that compete with Prino;
- overload, disrupt or interfere with the Service or with other users; or
- test the security of the Service in a way that goes beyond the good-faith research described below.
We welcome good-faith security research. If you test only against your own account and data, do not access or change other people's data, do not disrupt the Service, report what you find to hello@prino.ai promptly and give us reasonable time to fix it before sharing it publicly, we will not pursue legal action against you for that research.
5. How we enforce this policy
What we can and cannot see. Your saved conversations, memories and files are end-to-end encrypted. We cannot read them, and we do not scan them. When you send a message, it is processed by an AI model to write the answer, and the model may decline requests it considers harmful. The providers we use do not keep your content.
What we act on. We act on:
- reports from users and others, including content a user chooses to share with us;
- valid legal requests;
- signals that do not reveal your content, such as request volume, patterns of automated access and repeated attempts to get around limits; and
- anything we learn in the course of running the Service.
What we may do. Depending on how serious the violation is, we may warn you, limit features, suspend your access or close your account. For the most serious violations, such as those in Section 1, we may close an account without warning and report it to the authorities.
Appeals. If you believe we made a mistake, email hello@prino.ai with the subject line "Appeal" within 30 days. A person will review your appeal.
6. Reporting a problem
To report a violation of this policy, email hello@prino.ai. If you are reporting content someone shared with you, include what you can, such as screenshots and where you saw it. We do not tell the person you reported who made the report.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service and the law change. We will post the updated version here with a new effective date and, for material changes, tell you in advance as described in the Terms of Service.
